The speech was disrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that evening, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists slowed down my talk don't think I can make the plane we r enroute to heathrow". Epstein replied: "There. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an amazing assistant". These messages were released on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 pages from the records of Epstein, the late financier convicted of sex crimes. The release by the House oversight committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's identity is withheld. Media outlets managed to confirm his identity by cross-referencing the dates, occurrences, and places mentioned. For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from the UK for the unnamed individual in the chat, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the News Xchange conference on 14 November, and delivered the talk at the Oxford Union two days later. Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, did not reply on the request for comment. 'I'll make sure you're well looked after' Bannon was one of the president's key aides in the lead-up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his first administration, but resigned from the White House in August 2017. He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein before his passing and allegedly has around 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his podcast earlier this year, he said: "We plan to release the film, the multi-part documentary, next year - early next year." But the newly released materials indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile at times appearing to serve like a personal assistant. A few days prior to the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the most highly paid booking agent in history ". Bannon thanked him: "You are quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Excluded". Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you are well looked after." UK Politics Mentioned in Messages The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in that year. On the day of his speech at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit issue this morning with Nigel, Boris and Mogg." Then, in what appears to be a reference to Theresa May, the struggling UK prime minister at the time, he added: "They are attempting to proceed. may today / tomorrow…" Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can uk. Best-- so people see the dedication of your follow through." Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely however the guys over here have little courage" and added "Boris ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - somebody has to step up". May was eventually toppled in 2019 after withstanding multiple attempts of lack of support in December 2018. A representative for Reform UK told the BBC: "Nigel Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting occurred. The Congress will vote next week on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its records related to its probe into Epstein, who died in jail in 2019. Attention in Epstein's associations with influential individuals was reignited this week after the release of over 20,000 documents from his archives. A portion of those mentioned Trump, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they parted ways in the early 2000s, a couple of years prior to Epstein was first arrested.
